Good for Kit Kat

I am committed to selling Fairtrade chocolates at Pinkaboo Gifts so it a double whammy for me as a committed Kit Kat lover, that my favourite fingered bar will start to carry the Fairtrade Mark from January 2013.
This means, that more farmer co-operatives will be Fairtrade certified and will receive a price that covers the costs of sustainable production and investment in their communities and business developments, including improving healthcare and schools.

Orange & Clove Balls

 Christmas Ideas

Orange & Clove balls make natural air fresheners giving a beautiful citrus and spice smell that warms the room and look really festive when grouped together and placed in a decorative bowl or you can use them as decorations for your Christmas tree.

To make balls, you will need:
Oranges – choose thin skinned oranges if possible
Toothpick or pin to ease the cloves into the orange
Whole cloves
Ribbon to decorate  (optional)

Directions

Simply stick a clove directly into an orange. Use a toothpick or pin to make the first punctures so that the cloves are easier to insert.
For a more intense scent you can roll the finished ball in spices.

Mix together

2 tablespoons cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg

Roll the ball evenly over the spice, you can either display in a bowl or set aside for a couple of weeks in a cool place to dry out if you plan on use them in wardrobes or cupboards etc.

Top Tip

Place a rubber band around the middle the orange, this will give you a guide for your first circle of cloves.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

We stock organic baby clothing at PinkaBoo Gifts so I thought I would share some of the benefits to organic clothes.
  • Most people that suffer from allergies and sensitive skin can wear organic fabrics with little or no side affects…this is a great help when selecting baby clothes…as unfortunately the little ones are not born with the gift of speech to alert you to any ‘itches’ they may be experiencing! Organic fibres are especially good for babies with skin conditions such as eczema.
  • Non-organic fibres are often treated with pesticides and chemical fertilizers along with a few other nasties. Organic methods of agriculture do not use these harmful chemicals.
  • Social conditions are generally higher in organic textile factories, and organic cotton production can help farmers find a way out of poverty.

To find out more about organic cotton, I would recommend www.soilassociation.org

Keep Warm - Keep Recycled

Spoke to two lovely ladies in Portabello Rd who had these fabulous recycled throws outside their shop. They told me that the throws are made in Wales from recycled fibres which have been respun.

At £19 they must be a bargain

Just to give you some background….I am NOT Debenhams…and no I am NOT Argos…and no I don't even come close to Boots, BHS or Amazon…but I do have a lovely website called PinkaBoo Gifts and I DO offer something a little different!!!!

Our gifts are not readily available in your local department stores, but I like that.

Our gifts are organic, handmade, natural or Fair Trade for babies, ladies, guys and cool kids, right down to our luxury recycled gift boxes that we present them in.

About me….the Pinkabooeer… I am a Mum and a Nonna (that’s Italian for gran/nana, I thought it was cooler and a more hip name for someone who hasn’t reached bus pass stage yet)

I launched the website 2 weeks ago… I have had sleep deprivation and nightmares all at once, but I expect that’s normal…..I am now trying to set up a blog ….my background is sales and it should be easy…but maybe I am thinking of blag!!
